Loenen è la "perla della Vechtstreek". Il villaggio è nato nel XIII secolo vicino al castello di Kronenburg e fino alla costruzione dei nuovi quartieri dopo la guerra, consisteva in realtà solo negli edifici lungo la Dorpsstraat. Il villaggio conta ben 144 monumenti nazionali! A sinistra si vede il parco della residenza Oud Over, a destra case monumentali e splendidi giardini. I giardini sono i cortili che si trovano dall'altra parte della strada. Si possono trovare solo a Vreeland e Loenen.
La torre della chiesa gotica risale al 1525 e svetta alta sopra i tetti. È inclinata di ben 80 cm, quasi come la torre olandese di Pisa.
