Questo cimitero generale di Eemnes sulla Laarderweg è stato istituito nel 1828 dopo che in precedenza era stato emesso il divieto di sepoltura nelle chiese. Per la creazione del cimitero, il comune ha acquistato un lotto di terreno a una distanza sufficiente dal centro abitato del villaggio. Il terreno è stato rialzato e recintato con una siepe. È stato redatto un regolamento e nominato un becchino. Nel regolamento è stato stabilito che il becchino "prenderà nota con precisione di chi, quando e in quale tomba viene sepolto". All'ingresso attraverso il cancello ci troviamo nella parte più antica del cimitero. Sul retro, dietro l'aula, c'è un muro per le urne.
