Il colpo di tuono di Delft fu una catastrofe avvenuta il 12 ottobre 1654. Alle dieci e un quarto del mattino, quel giorno, esplose un magazzino di polvere da sparo situato nel nord-est del centro di Delft. Gli storici ritengono che nella catastrofe siano morte almeno cento persone e non si esclude nemmeno un numero di morti di "alcune centinaia". Tuttavia, il numero esatto di persone che sono perite nella catastrofe non è mai stato stabilito. Quasi tutti gli edifici del centro subirono danni e l'area a est di Verwersdijk fu completamente rasa al suolo.
