La Boswachterij Dwingeloo è un'area di circa 1800 ettari di proprietà di Staatsbosbeheer. La boswachterij fa parte del Parco Nazionale Olandese Dwingelderveld.
La foresta è stata piantata all'inizio del 20° secolo per contrastare le erosioni del suolo. La riserva naturale Lheebroekerzand, un cespuglio di ginepro con ginepri e erica, fa parte della boswachterij. Nell'area si trovano diversi stagni come lo Zandveen, il Karreveen, la Reigersplas e la Meeuwenplas. Anche l'area di brughiera il Witte Veen appartiene alla boswachterij. Attraverso misure come la riempimento di fossi di drenaggio e l'abbattimento di specie arboree che sottraggono acqua, Staatsbosbeheer cerca di umidificare l'area. Grazie a passerelle in legno, l'area 'umida' è resa accessibile ai visitatori.
