Accanto al Noorderbos nel 2007 sono stati piantati i primi 46 alberi del Boschetto della Nascita. Il Boschetto della Nascita deve simboleggiare che tutti i bambini hanno il diritto di crescere in un ambiente sano. I genitori decidono autonomamente se acquistare un albero. Per ogni anno di nascita vengono registrati i nomi dei nascituri su placche nel bosco. Una particolarità del Boschetto della Nascita di Tilburg è che è collegato a un bosco simile in Matagalpa. Per ogni albero a Tilburg, viene piantato uno nella città gemella in Nicaragua. La Fondazione Giornata Nazionale dell'Albero ha iniziato nel 1990 a piantare alberi per i nuovi cittadini del mondo nei Boschetti della Nascita.
