Mgr. Hopmans ha benedetto la cappella il 2 settembre 1939. La statua di Willibrordo è stata progettata da Luc van Hoek di Goirle e realizzata da Sjef van Gool di Baarle.
La cappella è stata utilizzata come posto di guardia durante la guerra ed è stata distrutta. Nel 1946 è stata ricostruita dagli architetti Jacobs e Muis e nuovamente consacrata. Nel 1976 la cappella, dopo essere stata trascurata, ha dovuto essere ricostruita sotto la direzione dell'architetto J. Backx. La fonte di Willibrordo si trova sotto il pavimento. Nel 2000 è stata riposizionata la targa in terracotta con lo stemma di mgr Hopmans.
La Fondazione Cappella di Boshoven è diventata proprietaria della cappella nel 2003, il terreno su cui si trovava apparteneva ancora al lotto di bosco adiacente!
