Questo percorso a piedi vi conduce attraverso il Paesaggio Nazionale di Middag-Humsterland. Middag era un'antica penisola che faceva parte del paesaggio mareale fino al XII secolo. Durante la vostra passeggiata nella zona troverete diverse tracce di questo passato. Naturalmente i tumuli di Ezinge e Feerwerd, che erano abitati prima della nostra era. Ma anche il disegno irregolare dei terreni agricoli, le dighe e le chiuse (sluizen) sono testimoni silenziosi del tempo in cui questa terra fu strappata al mare.
