Il parco nazionale delle Montagne Rocciose , istituito il 26 gennaio 1915, è situato nel centro-nord della regione del Colorado, negli Stati Uniti, a nord-ovest della città Boulder.
Ha una superficie di 1.075 km² ed è dotato di maestose montagne, una ricca fauna selvatica, laghi e torrenti , climi e ambienti diversi come i boschi, le foreste montane e la tundra.
Il punto più alto del parco è Longs Peak, 4.346 m.s.l.m., dall'esploratore Stephen H. Long che, nel 1820, guidò una lunga spedizione in quel territorio.
