Het Mayerling-incident is de reeks gebeurtenissen rond het schijnbare moord–zelfmoordpact van Rudolf, kroonprins van Oostenrijk, en zijn geliefde, barones Mary Vetsera. Ze werden op 30 januari 1889 doodgevonden in een keizerlijke jachthut in Mayerling. Rudolf, die getrouwd was met prinses Stéphanie van België, was de enige zoon van keizer Franz Joseph en keizerin Elisabeth, en was de troonopvolger van Oostenrijk-Hongarije.
