Monument dat de stedelijke vrijheden symboliseert. De Perroen is een stenen zuil die het bovendeel van het bouwwerk vertegenwoordigt. De Hertog van Bourgondië Karel de Stoute wou de Luikenaars straffen en zijn greep op het prinsdom tonen. Daarom liet hij de Perroen overbrengen naar Brugge. De Perroen werd heropgebouwd na de dood van Karel de Stoute in 1477. Nadat het monument tijdens een hevige storm in 1693 omwaaide, werd de huidige Perroen heropgebouwd door Jean Del Cour. Deze laatste voegde de groep van de Drie Gratiën toe aan het monument, de naam gegeven aan de vrouwenfiguren die de pijnappel waarop een kruis werd gestoken ondersteunen.
