Gelegen in het midden van het dorp te Houtave, op de hoek van de Dorpsstraat, nu Kerkhofstraat en de Zakstraat treffen we café 'Drie Koningen' aan. De herberg was zeker al open half weg de 17de eeuw en was met het huidige 'Travalie' en 'Muziekantje' tevens een hoeve. Tijdens en na de franse revolutie deed de herberg aanvankelijk eveneens dienst als gemeentehuis, waarbij moet worden gezegd dat Houtave canton hoofdplaats was, van het département van de Leie, waarbij ook Blankenberge hoorde. De herberg was het decor voor de verfilming van de VTM-reeks 'De Kavijaks'
