De heer Van Hoorebeke was vroeger eigenaar van Kraanlei 5 waar nu het restaurant "De Hel" is. Hij was goudsmid en zou zelf hebben gezorgd voor de ontwerpen van zijn gevelversieringen.

We zien er de vijf zintuigen telkens afgebeeld door een vrouw. Het gevleugelde hert staat voor de verjonging van het leven. Ook de middeleeuwse apothekers gebruikten een hertenkop als uithangbord. Het gewei, dat hormonen bevat werd gemalen voor zijn opwekkende kracht. De fluitspeler is symbool voor het plezier. Bovenaan staan de drie goddelijke deugden: geloof, hoop en liefde, en daarboven een Mariabeeld met kind.

Het huisje herbergt één van de bekendere restaurants in de stad. Een leuk detail is dat je in "De Hel" ook in een hemelbed kunt eten. Neem niet de hele familie mee want er is maar plaats voor 4!
