Op de Grand Place speelt zich elk jaar en groot spektakel af: de Combat dit Lumeçon - een symbolisch gevecht waarbij een Sint-Joris, op een geharnast paard gezeten, een draak (spottend lumeçon, d.i. worm genoemd) neersteekt precies op het ogenblik dat het belfort 13.00u slaat. Deze viering, enig in België, vindt ieder jaar plaats op Drievuldigheidszondag, de zondag na Pinksteren (mei of juni). Het maakt deel uit van een processie. In de Car d'Or wordt op de morgen van de Ducasse het schrijn van Sint-Waltrudis door de stad gedragen, in een processie die haar oorsprong vindt in 1348, toen het gebied van Bergen door de pest geteisterd werd. De stoet vertrekt om 10.00u.
