Centraal staat de neogotische O.L.Vrouwkerk die dateert uit de 19de eeuw. Op de gevel staan opvallende mesteltekens in contrasterende baksteenkleur. Over de betekenis ervan bestaan verschillende theorieën. De kerk werd tijdens de WO I gebruikt als lazaret of militair hospitaal. Op het einde van de oorlog werd de kerk en het centrum zwaar beschadigd. In de gevel van de kerk werd een monmument ingebouwd ter herdenking aan de 777 gesneuvelden.
Bij de bevrijding tijdens WO II sneuvelden drie Poolse bevrijders. Een gedenkplaat met de oorspronkelijke naamplaten hangt aan de linker gevel van de kerk.
De omgeving van de kerk werd autoluw ingericht. Het mooie dorpsplein met het groeningerichte park is volledig verkeersvrij. Het dorpscentrum kreeg de publieksprijs en werd eerste laureaat in de wedstrijd Groene Gemeente.
In het park staan twee beelden van de kunstenares Maen Florin. Dit kunstwerk heet 'Silence' en verwijst naar het citaat: 'Het zijn en het niets' van Jean-Paul Sartre.
