Ukkel is na de stad Brussel zelf de grootste gemeente in oppervlakte van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest en ligt ten zuiden van Brussel-centrum. De gemeente telt ongeveer 84.000 inwoners.
Ukkel is een van de groenere gemeenten van het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest. Een deel van het Zoniënwoud ligt op zijn grondgebied.
