Bredene is een plaats en gemeente in de Belgische provincie West-Vlaanderen. Bredene is een badplaats aan de Belgische Kust, en telt ruim 18.000 inwoners, die Bredenaars worden genoemd. In de volksmond spreekt men van Brènienge.Bredene is populair bij kampeerders met meer dan 30 campings op zijn grondgebied en haalt zijn inkomsten dan ook vooral uit het toerisme. Bredene is sinds 30 juni 2001 de enige Belgische badstad met een naaktstrand. De gemeente heeft geen zeedijk, maar een ononderbroken duinenrij, wat haar uniek maakt aan de Belgische kust.
