Het kasteel bevindt zich op de Linkeroever 37 te Zulte en werd gebouwd in 1748. Via de Limnanderdreef was het kasteel verbonden met het centrum van Zulte. Deze dreef werd in 1972 onderbroken door de aanleg van het Leiekanaal. Hierdoor ligt Kasteel Te Lake nu afgesloten van het dorp. Het classicistische bouwwerk stond vele jaren leeg en was erg vervallen toen het in 1990 werd gerestaureerd.
