Deze langgerekte zandrug strekt zich uit van Retie tot Grobbendonk. De Kempense Heuvelrug is een uniek natuurgebied in de Antwerpse Kempen, bekend als het grootste reliëf van de regio. Het is een overblijfsel van landduinen die ontstonden toen de zee zich terugtrok. De heuvelrug strekt zich uit over 15 km en verbindt gemeenten zoals Retie, Kasterlee, Herentals, Lille, Vorselaar en Grobbendonk. Het gebied bestaat uit naaldbossen, heidevelden, vennen (zoals Zwart Water en Snepkensvijver), paraboolduinen en holle wegen. Het heeft een rijke biodiversiteit met zeldzame planten zoals dophei, kleine zonnedauw en veenmos. Grote delen zijn Europees beschermd en bieden een habitat voor diverse broed- en watervogels.
