Als je goed kijkt zie je hoe slim de Hoeve Hof te Putbeek werd gebouwd. Net boven het alluviale gedeelte van de de Putbeek. Zo kregen de koeën geen natte poten bij de overstromingen van de beek. En het weiland was vlakbij. De graanakkers liggen hogerop op de valleiwand. Diezelfde inplanting zie je ook bij andere boerderijen langs deze vallei.
