Hier bevindt zich een uniek mausoleum. Het lijkt alsof de geesten van het Zoniënwoud zich verzamelden op de plaats van het Monument voor de Boswachters. In een cirkel van stenen monolieten herdenken ze er de verdwijning van 11 boswachters die het leven lieten tussen 1914 en 1918. Richard Viandier, gepassioneerd schilder van het Zoniënwoud, werkte samen met het Water- en Bosbeheer, waarvoor hij verschillende tentoonstellingen realiseerde. Voor deze traditionele 'cromlech' of steencirkel liet hij zich inspireren door Keltische begrafenisrituelen. Deze plek, die op 30 mei 1920 ingehuldigd werd, ademt een bijzondere sfeer uit.
