Dit mooie kasteel kende door de eeuwen heen heel wat verschillende eigenaars. Al in de 15e eeuw werd over dit domein gesproken. De Spaanse familie Del Rio maakte er in de 16e eeuw een zeer groot landgoed van. In de 19e eeuw komt het landgoed in bezit van de Baron Van Ertborn die op deze grond een nieuw kasteel bouwt.
Het kasteel doet nu dienst als hotel. Het bijgebouw aan de linkerkant werd omgetoverd tot restaurant.
