Elk jaar opnieuw wordt het stadspark omgetoverd tot een magische plek, met kunstige installaties die jong en oud verwonderen. Van schitterende miniatuurgebouwen die oplichten in het donker tot een verlicht wandelpad dat zelfs de meest romantische films doet verbleken in eenvoud.
Deze oude kloostertuin, die wij met trots ons stadspark noemen, ligt in het hart van de stad, pal naast het stadhuis.
In het park bevindt zich het Capucijnenklooster, opgericht in 1688. Eeuwenlang stond het klooster fier in onze streek, tot de Franse bezetting de paters verdreef en het gebouw in privéhanden kwam. Doorheen de geschiedenis bleef slechts één vleugel van het oorspronkelijke klooster bewaard — en die vormt vandaag het historische middelpunt van het stadspark.
