Bad Arolsen is een gemeente in de Duitse deelstaat Hessen, gelegen in de Landkreis Waldeck-Frankenberg. De stad telt 15.571 inwoners. Naburige steden zijn onder andere Korbach, Bad Wildungen, Battenberg en Diemelstadt.
Arolsen werd in 1131 voor het eerst vermeld als kerkdorp rondom een augustinessenklooster. Gedurende de Reformatie werd het klooster geseculariseerd en werd het residentie van de graven van Waldeck. Schloss Arolsen stamt uit het begin van de achttiende eeuw. Van 1655 tot 1918 was Arolsen residentiestad van het vorstendom Waldeck, daarna tot 1929 hoofdstad van de Vrijstaat Waldeck.
