In het voorjaar van 1945 werd Hildfeld zwaar onder vuur genomen. Eerst door de geallieerden en dan door de Duitse artillerie. In het dorp werden tal van gebouwen vernietigd of beschadigd. Moelijk voor te stellen als je nu dit vredig dorpje bekijkt.
