De Frankenschanze in de gemeente Großgartach van de stad Leingarten in de Landkreis Heilbronn is een ringwal met een voorafgaande gracht. Ze ligt op een hoogte van 240 m boven NN aan het oostelijke einde van de Heuchelberg op een vlakke afzetting van de noordhelling in het zogenaamde Baunzelwald. Ten laatste rond 1000 na Christus opgericht, was de Frankenschanze blijkbaar de permanent bewoonde, versterkte residentie van maatschappelijk hoogstaande kringen. Volgens nieuwe inzichten is ze mogelijk ontstaan als kasteel van de gaugraaf van het Gartachgau.
