De Madel is een bijna tien kilometer lange, orografisch rechter zijrivier van de Werra in Thüringen, Duitsland.
De bronnen van de Madel bevinden zich in het stadsgebied van Eisenach, op de Gramberg dicht ten noordwesten van de stadswijk Neukirchen. Eerst stroomt de bronbeek naar het westen in de Trößelsgrund. Hier bevond zich de nederzetting Alt-Madelungen - tegenwoordig een woeste plaats. Na nog eens twee kilometer wordt de rand van de Eisenacher stadswijk Madelungen bereikt, hier buigt de rivier naar het zuidwesten af en doorkruist dan tussen Madelungen en Krauthausen een moerasgebied, waarin van links de vanuit de 364 m hoge Moseberg komende Etzenbach-uitmonding.
