De Barbarossaluchter is een radluchter die in opdracht van keizer Frederik I, bijgenaamd Barbarossa, en zijn echtgenote Beatrix ongeveer tussen 1165 en 1170 werd gemaakt en onder de koepel van de kapel van Karel de Grote, de huidige Aken Dom, werd geplaatst. De lantaarn was een schenking ter ere van de Maagd Maria, de patrones van de Aken abdij- en kroningskerk, en was tevens een eerbetoon aan zijn stichter Karel.
