Het Haranni-Gymnasium in Herne is een stedelijke school voor zowel jongens als meisjes. De naam "Haranni" is de vroegere Latijnse naam van de stad Herne.
De school huisvest 630 leerlingen en een onderwijzend personeel van 57 leden. De directeur is Nicole Nowak. De partnerscholen van het Haranni-Gymnasium bevinden zich in Thiais bij Parijs, Wakefield, evenals Konin en Zagórów. Er vinden regelmatig uitwisselingen plaats met de scholen. Sinds 2011 wordt er ook een studiereis naar Oxford aangeboden in het 10e leerjaar.
