Het natuurreservaat Nieder Heide aan de Egelsberg is ongeveer 4,6 hectare groot en ligt in het zuidwesten van de stad Moers. Het omvat een vochtige berken-eikenbos en grenst in het zuiden direct aan het grotere Krefelder NSG Egelsberg. Samen maken de twee natuurreservaten bijna volledig deel uit van het FFH-gebied DE-4605-302 Egelsberg, waardoor het gebied deel uitmaakt van het Europese beschermingsnetwerk Natura 2000.
