Het oude station Baden-Baden was een kopstation en eindpunt van de spoorlijn Baden-Oos–Baden-Baden. Het werd samen met deze lijn op 27 juli 1845 in gebruik genomen, diende voor het lokaal en internationaal vervoer en werd samen met de lijn uiteindelijk op 24 september 1977 gesloten. Sinds 1998 maakt het uit 1895 daterende ontvangstgebouw deel uit van het Festspielhaus Baden-Baden.
