De Monzenbach is een 4,5 km lange orografisch rechter zijrivière van de Aar, een zijrivier van de Dill. Hij ontspringt in het zuiden van het Schelderwoud, aan de helling van het Wickenhain, en stroomt vervolgens aanvankelijk tussen de Dillenburger buurt Oberscheld en de Herborner buurt Seelbach in westelijke, daarna in zuidelijke richting om de noord- en westzijde van de Volpertsberg van de Aar. Voordat hij in de Aar uitmondt, stroomt hij door het grondgebied van Seelbach. De beek mondt uit bij Aar-km 19,1 op een hoogte van 214 m boven NAP.
