Karl Deutsch is de naam van een familiebedrijf dat zich bezighoudt met de ontwikkeling en productie van apparaten voor niet-destructief onderzoek van materialen. Het hoofdkantoor is gevestigd in Wuppertal in het stadsdeel Elberfeld-West.
In 1948 nam Karl Deutsch deel aan de Hannover Messe met een prototype van een laagdiktemeetapparaat. Een jaar later richtte Karl Deutsch zijn bedrijf op in Wuppertal. In de beginjaren werden vooral apparaten en machines voor ultrasone tests en scheurtests ontwikkeld en geproduceerd. Begin jaren '60 werden magnetische poeder scheurtestapparaten aan het productassortiment toegevoegd. In 1961 trad Volker Deutsch als managing director tot het bedrijf toe.
