Het station Bad Oldesloe is het enige station van de gemeente Bad Oldesloe. De DB Station & Service als exploitant plaatst het in de stationcategorie 2. Het ligt aan de in 1865 geopende spoorlijn Lübeck–Hamburg. Sinds 1875 is het station een splitsingsstation, in dat jaar werd ook de hier afbuigende lijn naar Neumünster in gebruik genomen. De in 1887 en 1897 volgende lijnen naar Ratzeburg en Schwarzenbek zijn vandaag de dag buiten gebruik. Het spoor van de Elmshorn-Barmstedt-Oldesloer Spoorweg wordt alleen nog tot Blumendorf in het goederenvervoer als industrieel spoorlijn bereden.
Het station beschikt over een ZOB. In het openbaar vervoer behoort het station inclusief stedelijk gebied en omgeving tot de tariefgebieden van HVV en NAH.SH.
Het station werd geopend op 1 augustus 1865 met de spoorlijn Hamburg–Lübeck door de Lübeck-Büchener Spoorwegmaatschappij. Onder Walther Brecht, destijds de voorzitter-directeur van de maatschappij, werd er een D-treindienst naar Kopenhagen en Stettin ingevoerd. Door de bouwkundige reorganisatie van de spoorkörper van zijn maatschappij werd het station gemoderniseerd.
