De evangelische Mauritiuskirche in Kernen im Remstal bevindt zich in het dorpscentrum van de wijk Rommelshausen. Ze ligt in de directe omgeving van het oude gemeentehuis en de pastorij.
Rommelskirchen was al in 1275 een parochieplaats, en in 1408 is er al een aan de heilige Mauritius gewijde kerk gedocumenteerd. Het torenkoor als het oudste deel van de hedendaagse kerk is al eerder gebouwd, vermoedelijk in de 14e eeuw. Met de Reformatie in het hertogdom Württemberg in 1534 werd de kerk evangelisch.
