Het natuurreservaat Romberg ligt op het grondgebied van de onderfrankische Landkreis Main-Spessart, ten zuiden van Sendelbach, een stadsdeel van Lohr am Main.
Ten westen van het gebied stroomt de Main, ten noordoosten ligt de St 2437. In het gebied verheft zich de 230 meter hoge Romberg, die als omloopberg is ontstaan. Op zijn zanddroge graslanden is er onder andere een rijke aanwezigheid van de stierkever. In tijdelijke watertijgers in het maintal aan de voet van de Romberg leven lentefeetjeskrabben.
