Het dorp bevond zich tussen Stetten en Strümpfelbach. Tegenwoordig zijn er wijngaarden. Vroeger was daar het naamgevende Lindhaldenwoud, dat rond 1717 gekapt werd.
Voor het eerst werd het dorp in 1360 schriftelijk vermeld. Volgens een kadaster uit 1494 was het dorp vrij uitgestrekt. Rond de tijd van de Dertigjarige Oorlog bestond de plaats uit ongeveer 20 boerderijen. Velen trokken daarna naar het dorp Stetten om toevlucht te zoeken in het kasteel. Ook de pestepidemieën in Schwaben in 1596, 1607 en 1626 droegen hieraan bij.
