Na het ietwat oneffen graspad in het begin gaat het vanaf de bosweg verder op voornamelijk grindbrede ondergrond. Langs een holle gracht gaat het om de oostelijke Steinkuhlenberg heen. Op het hoogste punt, onderaan de Hohen Warte, gaat het weer steil bergafwaarts.
