In 1994 kwam de Esbjerg-galerij in het nieuws omdat een Deense kunstenaar, Christian Lemmerz, zes dode varkens in een glazen vitrine als kunstvorm plaatste. De bezoekers konden de verandering van kleur van roze naar zwart bekijken. Volgens de kunstenaar ging dit over 'de waarde van de realiteit in de kunst'.
