De Romaanse abdijkerk van de Abbaye aux Dames kijkt uit over de stad Caen en herbergt nog steeds het graf van de beroemde stichtster, Matilda van Vlaanderen, hertogin van Normandië, koningin van Engeland en vrouw van Willem de Veroveraar. Van de 11e-eeuwse crypte tot het 18e-eeuwse klooster, de Abbaye aux Dames is een van de parels van het Normandische erfgoed. Volg een rondleiding en ontdek de 950-jarige geschiedenis van deze abdij en haar illustere dames!
Rondleidingen (met toegang tot de crypte en kloosterzalen) elke dag om 14.30 en 16.00 uur (behalve 01/01, 01/05 en 25/12). Duur: 1 uur. Gratis toegang tot het Michel d'Ornano-park van 8.00 tot 18.30 uur (20.00 uur in de zomer), met prachtig uitzicht over de stad vanaf de Ceder van Libanon.
