Troyes is een Franse gemeente, gelegen in het departement Aube en de regio Grand Est. In 1999 had het 60.958 inwoners. Troyes was een bisdom en burggraafschap van het koninkrijk Frankrijk in de middeleeuwen. Het burggraafschap ging in 1284 over naar de Franse kroon en de bischoppen bleven beperkt tot hun religieuze rol.
