GAYA heeft de soepelheid van klei gekozen om de rondingen van haar menselijke lichamen te boetseren, ze mengt kracht en kwetsbaarheid om de gevoelens die hen bezielen te bevriezen.
Het atelier van Gaya is een authentiek kunstenaarsatelier gelegen op een steenworp afstand van de Grosse Cloche, in het historische centrum van Bordeaux. De houten voorgevel dateert van eind 18e, begin 19e eeuw.
Jacques LAFAYE, fotograaf, schilder en beeldhouwer, creëert, verzamelt en onderwijst er sinds 1973. Agnès GAY wordt zijn leerlinge in 1991, aanvankelijk voor tekenen, maar hij duwt haar al snel in de richting van boetseren, wat voor haar een uitdrukkingsmiddel van haar voorliefde zal blijken te zijn.
Zij nam de werkplaats over van haar meester in 2004 en nam de naam GAYA aan, als een knipoog naar het toeval dat alles zo goed maakt.
Het atelier blijft een plaats van creatie maar ook van uitwisseling
