Wist je dat Garstang de allereerste Fairtrade Town in de wereld is. Fair Trade is een wereldwijde beweging die streeft naar rechtvaardigheid, gelijkwaardigheid en duurzame ontwikkeling. In april 2001 besloot een groep vrijwilligers in het Verenigd Koninkrijk om hun gemeente ‘Garstang’ uit te roepen als allereerste Fairtrade Town. Overal poppen intussen gemeenten op die zich inzetten voor eerlijke handel.
