Bij het naderen van Rookhope passeer je Lintzgarth Arch, een enorm onbegrijpelijk restant uit vroegere tijden, verlaten liggend op de valleibodem. De boog droeg een 3 kilometer lange horizontale schoorsteen over de vallei die het conventionelere verticale type verving toen men realiseerde dat er heel wat lood letterlijk met de rook weg werd geblazen. Bijgevolg werden teams met schoorsteenvegers tewerkgesteld om het waardevolle lood en het neergeslagen zilver één keer in de week van de schoorsteen te schaven. Het was een gevaarlijk en vuil werk, dat door kinderen wordt gedaan.
