Een uitgeholde stam van deze oude taxus is te vinden op het kerkhof van de St James Parish Church van Nantglyn. De uitgeholde stam van deze oude taxus is omgebouwd tot een buitenpreekstoel van waaruit menig preek is gehouden - waaronder, zo gaat het gerucht, een preek van de grondlegger van de Methodist Church, John Wesley. Er is lokaal leisteen uit Wales gebruikt om enkele treden te maken die leiden naar een zitplaats en een podium bovenaan, dat uitkijkt over het omliggende kerkhof. Ondanks de aanpassingen verkeert The Pulpit Yew nog steeds in uitstekende gezondheid en is het een lichtend – zij het extreem – voorbeeld van de erkende associatie tussen taxusbomen en gebedshuizen.
