Het Teatro San Cassiano in Venetië was het eerste openbare operatheater ter wereld, dat als zodanig werd ingehuldigd in 1637. De eerste vermelding van de bouw dateert uit 1581. De naam waaronder het het beste bekend is, komt van de parochie waarin het zich bevond, San Cassiano, in de wijk Santa Croce, niet ver van de Rialto.
