De kerk van San Giuliano is een van de oudste katholieke gebedshuizen in Erice, gewijd aan San Giuliano, martelaar in 254 na Christus. Ze was zo belangrijk dat de berg Erice tot 1934 de berg San Giuliano heette.
Bij de Noormannen in 1080 was het een kleine kerk in gotische stijl, parochiekerk van de gelijknamige wijk. Het werd herbouwd en aangepast in de periode tussen 1612 en 1645. De klokkentoren buiten de kerk, grenzend aan de rechterkant, met een karakteristiek pagodedak, werd gebouwd in 1770. Als gevolg van de ineenstorting van het middenschip in 1926 was de kerk tot recente restauraties gesloten voor aanbidding. De kostbare meubels en het zilverwerk werden elders ondergebracht.
