De klim van Ovaro naar de Monte Zoncolan is een van de moeilijkste in Europa, meestal vergeleken met de Alto de El Angliru. Het werd voor het eerst gepresenteerd in de Giro d'Italia van 2007. De klim begint in Ovaro in de Gorto-vallei en is 10,1 kilometer lang met een gemiddelde van 11,9% en een hoogteverschil van 1.210 meter. De maximale helling is 22%.
