Deze rit loopt gedeeltelijk over Zwitsers grondgebied naar het belastingsvrije Livigno. Vanuit Bormio gaat het in dalende lijn naar Tirano. Iets voorbij Tirano vanaf de grens met Zwitserland begint de klim over 15km via Campocologna en Brusio naar het bergmeer Lago di Poschiavo en het stadje Poschiavo.
Van hier begint de klim tot het plaatsje La Motta waar de splitsing is naar de Passo del Bernina en Forcola di Livigno. Op de pashoogte van de Forcola di Livigno bevindt zich terug de Italiaanse grens. Vervolgens naar Livigno, Passo di Eira en de Passo di Foscagno. Afdaling over een 14 tal km naar Valdidentro en Bormio.
