Ohrid is een stad en gemeente in het zuidwesten van Noord-Macedonië. De gemeente telt 54.380 inwoners , waarvan er 42.033 in de eigenlijke stad Ohrid wonen en de overige in de 20 andere kernen die de gemeente rijk is.
Ohrid is rijk aan monumenten, waaronder het antiek theater van Ohrid, en is om die reden opgenomen op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO onder de inschrijving Natuurlijk en cultureel erfgoed van de regio Ohrid. Kenmerkend is het Fort van Samuel dat op de heuvel boven de stad ligt. Het toerisme vormt een belangrijke bron van inkomsten. De stad lag in de oudheid aan de Via Egnatia, die dwars over het Balkanschiereiland naar Byzantium liep. Van de vele Byzantijnse monumenten is de kathedraal Sint-Sophiakerk de belangrijkste. Een heel eind buiten het centrum, nabij de Albanese grens, ligt het Sveti Naum-klooster.
