Het Spencer-monument is een gerestaureerd obeliskmonument op de weg naar Valletta, in Blata l-Bajda, Malta, opgericht voor Kapitein Sir Robert Cavendish Spencer, R.N., een neef van de Gouverneur van Malta,
Sir Frederick Cavendish Ponsonby.
Sir Robert Cavendish Spencer werd geboren in het Spencer-familiehuis in Althorp, Northamptonshire, als zoon van de 2e graaf Spencer en Lavinia, gravin Spencer. Hij diende als privésecretaris van koning William IV van 1827 tot 1828, en Spencer werd geridderd voor zijn diensten. Hij had een onderscheidende carrière in de Koninklijke Marine en werd goed gewaardeerd door de mannen die hij commanderen.
